Hong Kong 7 Days 6 Nights Trip- Day Five

So soon reach the fifth day in Hong Kong, we start our day in this super hidden chinese Cha Chan Teng in Rainbow estate. The main reason of her bringing me to this restaurant is because the food is tasty and very cheap. Just HKD$24 include drink.

Choi Hung Estate彩虹邨

Choi Hung Estate is an old public housing estate built in 1964 in Hong Kong. These homes were painted like a rainbow to uplift resident spirits. Basically, the spot is located at a basketball field and I was kinda shock when I arrived as it was so crowded! The whole basketball field was almost filled with tourists, instagrammers and etc! However, heard that this tourist spot is also being banned for photo as the non stop visitors had caused much disturbance to the residents. Thus, if you plan to visit here again, let's behave and respect the area!

彩虹邨是香港的一座公共屋邨，位於九龍黃大仙，鄰近港鐵彩虹站。彩虹邨每幢大廈的外牆都塗上不同顏色，形成一道彩虹。而且，邨內七條街道的字首都以彩虹七色（紅、橙、黃、綠、青、藍、紫）開首。

Kowloon Bay九龙湾

The bay is located at the east of the Kowloon Peninsula and north of Hong Kong Island. It is the eastern portion of Victoria Harbour, between Hung Hom and Lei Yue Mun. It was formerly known as Ngau Tau Kok Industrial Area.

九龙湾原指香港九龙半岛海湾，泛指红磡至观塘之间一带海域，属维多利亚港一部份。九龙湾的范围在牛头角旁，由港铁九龙湾站至牛头角站一直到海边，也可泛称为九龙湾。

The Sam Ka Tsuen typhoon shelter, which in turn is named after the village. The Village of Sam Ka Tsuen was believed to be dominated by three families with different last name that formed the Three Families aka ‘Sam Ka’. However, Hong Kongese nowadays will just call Sam Ka Tsuen as Lei Yue Mun.

三家村是從前由三個姓氏的人所組成的村落，而由三家村通往維多利亞港的海道叫鯉魚門，但香港人都直接叫三家村做鯉魚門了。鯉魚門三家村除了是海鮮美食之旅，亦都是個休閒攝影好去處。日落倒影、海上小木船、燈塔剪影、村民愜意生活百態等。

How to get to Sam Ka Tsuen

You could take the ferry and reach at Sam Ka Tsuen Ferry Pier. Or by MTR, take the Kwun Tong Line and reach at Kwun Tong Station, and walk another 15 minutes.

要去到三家村可以在西灣河碼頭乘渡船，10分鐘就到或者乘搭油塘港鐵站到观塘A2出口，步行15分鐘。

Hong Kong Signature buildings

Featuring the Lippo towers(at the left) which are not really visible on the Hong Kong waterfront skyline as they are hidden by the gold-colored Far East Financial Centre(at the right) but have a very memorable design. It used to be the Bond Centre, built by Australian magnate Allan Bond. The design of the building with the protruding windows sticking out on the sides are supposed to resemble koalas hugging the building, the building was also known as "the Koala tree". The Bond Centre was supposedly one of the first casualties of the bad fengshui vibes from the Bank of China Tower, it was sold when it ran into financial troubles and became the Lippo Towers.

Two International Finance Centre or IFC Tower 2, is the second tallest building in Hong Kong after the ICC building in Kowloon.The IFC Centre is a complex that includes IFC Towers 1 and 2, the IFC mall and the Four Seasons Hotel. IFC Two is an 88-storey tower, IFC One is a mini-replica of IFC 2 with only 39 storeys they are both mainly occupied by financial and brokerage firms.

Tip: You can go up Two IFC to the 55th floor for a great free view of the Central Skyscrapers. This is actually an exhibition and information centre of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, if you are interested in Hong Kong's Money history, don't miss the exhibition and don't miss the views! At the IFC Mall is Hong Kong's only Apple store and also at the IFC Centre is the station of the Hong Kong Airport Express.

Garden Hill 嘉顿山

嘉頓山之所以叫嘉頓山，全因為它是嘉頓麵包廠附近的小山丘。它是香港人的後山，是美何楼旁边的一座小山丘。这里不足一百公尺，从美何楼走到山上只需大约十分钟，不止能够遥望整个深水埗和石硖尾，腳下密密麻麻如火柴盒的樓宇，在嘉頓山上欣賞香港的日與夜，有一種治癒避世的感覺。

要走上嘉頓山，可以沿著深水埗美荷樓後面的晨運徑走，踏上400級樓梯，就可以登上嘉頓山了。

How to get there

Exit at D2 Sham Sui Po Station of MTR, Go straight on Kweilin Street. You will reach at the T-Junction of Castle Peak Road. You will see the Mei Ho building at your plain sight. There's construction right at the moment. You might need to go around the fence and you will see a signboard with Path Up Hill. Just follow the road and staircase, it will lead you to the entrance of the hill. You may google search Mei Ho building for the direction.
