Macau, the 'Vegas of China' is easily accessed when you are at Hong Kong. If you plan to stay long in Hong Kong and have no where else to go, Macau is one of a good choice in your itinerary.

The tiny Special Administrative Region of Macau lies 65 kilometres west of Hong Kong. Defined by Portuguese colonial architecture and contemporary casinos, Macau is a fascinating mix of cultures. One moment you’ll be admiring 17th Century church ruins, then you could be sampling authentic Chinese food whilst relaxing in a modern sky lounge. As one of the earliest European colonies in Asia and the last to be relinquished, Macau has spectacular historical landmarks around every corner.

Since I took Cotai Water during my transfer, I will share out my experience more on Cotai Water. The route I took was from Hong Kong Sheung Wan to Macau Taipa and vice versa.

As you can see, there's ferries going to Taipa or Outer Harbour in Macau. Both are different areas in Macau connected by a bridge. (It's totally the same concept as mainland and island in Penang connected by Penang bridge.) Macau Peninsula (older Macau district with majority of cultural tourist attractions/site seeing) and Cotai (a newer strip with super grand casino hotels). Thus, it's important to know which area you wish to travel in Macau. However, if you have no idea, not much to worry also. You can decide when you reach in Macau. it's easily travel from Taipa to Outer Harbour or vice versa by using the free hotel shuttle.

Macau is a land of free shuttle service. Grab/Taxi/Car Rental are never come to the mind of every local or regular visitors. These shuttles are provided mainly by hotels(e.g. Sands, Wynn, The Venetian, Galaxy, Grand Lisboa). Also note that in Macau, you do not need to be a guest of the hotel to board their buses—no one will ask you about this when you use their services. The main aim for most hotels offering such convenient services is to get you closer to their casinos. If you happen to stay in a hotel which do not offer shuttle services, just look up for a hotel nearby yours which does and board their bus. The shuttle bus stations are easily spot once you passed the immigration of ferry terminal.

A friend in Macau told us that a newly built escalator for scenery view purpose has completed. Thus, we walk all the way to witness the whole view of Macau.

What a coincident to meet the 21st Macau Myammar Oversea Chinese Water festival, we had join in and experience the cultural event. But this is just a small event held.

After that, we took the hotel free shuttle to reach the Macau Peninsula. It is exactly like the new world at Macau Peninsula compared to the Cotai/ Taipa. For me, it's more cultural feeling as compared.
